Activision Fires Head of Infinity Ward

Rumors were flying around yesterday that bouncer types (who turned out to be Activision heavies) had shown up at the Infinity Ward offices without notice as to what they were up to. As often happens once the dust has settled, the truth comes out. Thanks to James Walker over at Binge Gamer, you can get the complete information. Here's the mini version:

  • Infinity Ward have yet to be paid anything in Royalties for Modern Warfare 2
  • There were 'breaches of contract by two senior employees at Infinity Ward'
Modern Warfare 2 is a fine game, and I play it online regularly. I'm not going to try and make sense of this situation, because there's two sides to every story but I sincerely hope that those who are currently employed at Infinity Ward remain there.
